Trail Running
Matroosberg offers various trails ideal for trail runners. We also host the Sky and Ultra Sky Marathon annually at the end of October. If you are a day visitor who wish to come and practise for any big events that is coming up, you are more than welcome, but the normal entry fee of R50 per person will be charged. We offer different trails with different levels of difficulty. On Matroosberg you can also do a vertical kilometre.
TRAIL – Lovers Lane
Lovers lane is an amazing trail for beginners as well as intermediate runners. Game encounter on this trail…Grey Rheebuck, Klipspringer, Black Eagle, Baboon, Rooikat tracks and Dassies.
TRAIL – Canal Walk
The Cross Country Trail is ideal for runners, hikers and even Mountain Biking. Nothing too serious, a couple of river crossings and amazing views and enough game to encourage you!
